General Notes: Husband - Christian Van Horn

He was a native of Holland and settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania. He owned land in New York and leased the same for five generations, which terminated about 1862 or so.

He (Sir Jans Von Huron) came from Holland to New Amsterdam and was a prominent man in the civil and military government of that city before it was captured by the English Duke of York, who changed its name from New Amsterdam to New York in honor of himself.
