General Notes: Husband - Elias Van Gorder

He came to Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, in 1808, and settled on a farm later owned by Smith, Collins & Co., a Philadelphia oil firm. He bought the land of a man named Neely. It was originally settled by one Pearsol, or Kirkendoll, or some such name. Elias Van Gorder brought three or four children with him. He went to Erie in Captain James Kildoo's company, during the War of 1812, and died there.
