General Notes: Husband - Marcellus R. Turney


He attended the common schools adjacent to his home until he was fifteen years of age. The following eighteen months he was engaged in rail-roading, after which he served an apprenticeship of five years; from 1870 to 1875, at the trade of carpenter. He then returned to the employ of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company, and in 1881 was promoted to the position of engineer.
He was a member of the A. O. U. W., No. 53, of Greensburg; the B. of L. E., No. 454, of Youngwood; K. P., No. 310, of Youngwood; K. M., No. 358, of Greensburg; K. of M. C., No. 360, of Greensburg; K. of M., No. 214, of Greensburg.
