General Notes: Husband - Lt. William Lintner Turner
He was reared on his father's farm and attended the Blairsville academy, where he made a specialty of the study of civil engineering, which he followed for the first four years after he left the academy. After 1884, he was engaged with his father in the coal business, at Blairsville.
He was a member of Co. D, 5th regiment, Pennsylvania National Guard, and on February 7, 1888, was appointed second sergeant of the company, and in July of the same year was promoted to the office of first sergeant. On May 10, 1889, he was elected first lieutenant of his company.
