He was engaged in literary work in London, England. Besides several historical sketches he wrote "A Girl of the Multitude," "The Letters of her Mother to Elizabeth," and "The Little Marquis of Brandenburg." When the great war of 1914 began with the invasion of Belgium, Mr. Trowbridge was among the first to apply for a commission in the English Army, but on account of the age limit his application at that time was refused.
