He taught school for a time in Cross Creek, Washington County, Pennsylvania. Entered junior class in Jefferson College, Canonsburg, in 1843. Entered the Presbyterian ministry and labored in New York City and state, and finally was given charge of a mission in Wilkinsonville, Massachusetts, where he died.
