General Notes: Husband - Christopher Wells

He was born in Scotland and emigrated to America with two brothers, one named Gideon, about 1780. He landed at Philadelphia, whence he soon afterward removed to Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
He was married twice and had twenty-two children, eleven by each wife, all of whom who removed westward except Isaiah, who remained at Norristown. Wellsburg, West Virginia, Wellsville, Ohio, and other places were settled by and named for these Wells families.

He was an early settler of Indiana County, Pennsylvania, and located at an early date in what is now South Mahoning township.

He was a native of England. Coming to Pennsylvania in an early day, he settled first in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and later in Indiana County, where he cleared and improved a farm at White Oak Flats upon which he lived and died. He had a family of ten children, seven sons and three daughters. [HAC 1914, 876]
