General Notes: Husband - Irvin D. Stinson
He was educated in Greenville, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, and at the Academy. As a boy, he worked in his father's flouring mill in Greenville; and also worked for the United States Express Company, in 1875, as office boy. He began work then, for the Shenango & Allegheny Railroad Company, in J. T. Blair's office, he being the general manager and superintendent at that time. Mr. Stinson made his way up from an office boy to passenger agent, which position he held for eight years, and he was treasurer for ten years. This was before the road was re-organized and became the B. & L. E., in 1890. After that, he engaged in the fruit business in California, remaining in that line of business up to 1897, when he engaged in the dredging business, with his headquarters at New York City, doing government work through the South and East, contracting, etc., until 1904. He then returned to Greenville and engaged in the life insurance business. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity, belonging to Eureka Lodge, No. 290, of F. & A. M. Politically, he was a supporter of the Republican party.
