He began his education in the common schools of Indiana borough, Pennsylvania, later attending the State normal school at Indiana for some time, and he then took a four years' course in the medical school of the University of Pennsylvania, at Philadelphia, graduating with the class of 1899. He began practice at Allegheny, Pennsylvania.
