General Notes: Husband - James Williamson
He first settled his household in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, about 1797. Long a resident of Carlisle, Cumberland County, he became an ardent patriot, and just two months after the colonies had promulgated their Declaration of Independence he was commissioned second lieutenant of the Twelfth Pennsylvania Line of Colonial Volunteers, and on May 20, 1777, was promoted to the first lieutenancy. This is a matter of record in the Pennsylvania Archives, second series, volume 10, page 778, and in volume 15, pages 509 and 531. At the conclusion of the war he returned to his Cumberland County farm, but died on the Otter Creek homestead.
