General Notes: Husband - Calvin Carver
He was educated in the common schools, and began to learn his trade when quite young. At the age of twenty-two he had completed his trade, having learned the carriage manufacturing business with H. C. Beldon, of Warren, Ohio. He formed a partnership under the firm name of Sisley & Carver, at Sheakleyville, and did general blacksmithing and wagon and carriage-making. In 1869 he withdrew, and formed a partnership under the firm name of Waid & Carver, at Sandy Lake, and did the same kind of work. In 1880 he was joined by Joseph Bower. He was a member of the K. of H., K. & L. of H., and he and his wife belonged to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In politics he was a Democrat.
