General Notes: Husband - Capt. Joseph A. Steele

At the outbreak of the civil war he enlisted in Company M, Fifty-second Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry, and fought through-out the war, receiving four wounds and attaining the rank of captain, his father being the colonel in command of the same regiment. At the close of the war he entered the oil business at Pithole, Pennsylvania, and from there followed the development of the oil fields to Parker, thence to Bradford, Pennsylvania, removing from there to Warren, Pennsylvania, and later to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he died suddenly in 1893 from the effects of the wounds he had received during the war. He also conducted a large livery business in the oil country, at one time owning stables in eight different towns. He was a Republican in politics, and a Baptist in religion.

General Notes: Wife - Evaline Wallace

Pittsburgh, PA

According to the source, she married Steele in 1861. This seems unlikely.
