General Notes: Husband - Levi Stauffer
He received his educational training in the district schools of Clarion County, Pennsylvania, and early became associated with his father in the work and management of the old home farm in Porter township. In 1869 he purchased forty-six acres of land in the vicinity of his father's place, and there was engaged in farming operations until 1889 when he moved back to the home farm. In addition to cultivating and improving his farm he had a blacksmith shop and did a great deal of work along that line. In his political convictions he was a stalwart Democrat, and he figured actively in the local councils of that party. He served on the school board for a number of years, was judge of elections, and for two years was inspector of election. In their religious faith the Stauffer family were members of the German Reformed church.
