General Notes: Husband - Jacob Whieldon
The year following marriage he and his wife sailed for America, settling in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. He was a carpenter, also followed farming on an extensive scale; and was a lumberman. He was the foreman in the construction of the courthouse of Mercer County which was later destroyed by fire. He was a successful business man. In his politics, he was a Republican. Both he and his wife were Wesleyan Methodists, and Jacob Whieldon was the founder of the Oak Grove Wesleyan Methodist church, which building stood on his farm, seven miles northeast of Mercer.
