General Notes: Husband - Thomas Bavington
He kept a public house for many years, it being about midway between Pittsburgh and Steubenville; there being quite a traffic between these two places made it a good place for the accommodation of the public. In 1855, when the Pittsburgh & Steubenville Railroad was first projected, he took an active part in securing it, and was a liberal subscriber to its stock, although the road was not located near his farm. He lived on his farm until his death. Nearly all of his children died during their minority.
