He graduated at Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, A. B., in 1858; from Dickinson, A. M., in 1861; from Bucknell University, D. D., in 1884. He was the oldest member of the Cincinnati Conference of the Methodist Church, and was a member of it for more than thirty-three years. He was still serving four churches at the age of 77 years.
