General Notes: Husband - F. S. McCullough

---

He was educated in the common schools, and by Rev. Geo. W. Zahniser in Mercer, PA. In 1844 he began in the wild woods, erecting a cabin 16x16 feet out of round logs. He brought his bride to this cabin, but later built a commodious house. He owned 400 acres, a portion of which he divided between his sons. He owned a saw­mill located in Delaware Township, and his sons ran a threshing machine for sixteen years. He and wife and children were members of the Presbyterian Church of Clarksville, in which he was an elder for over twenty years. He was a Republican.
