General Notes: Husband - Aaron A. Work
He was a member of the U. P. church for over fifty-five years, and an elder for over thirty years.
He was married and moved to the Dilts mill, which he attended for two or three years. He then moved to a farm later owned by R. H. Work, Sr., where he built a log house, replacing it with a frame one about 1840. In November, 1865, he moved to a farm at the mouth of Broadhead run, where he resided until his death. He was a lover of music and taught singing school in Jefferson and northern Indiana counties, teaching in Punxsutawney when it contained only six houses. He was by trade a carpenter, being the principal builder in the north end of the county for years. He was also a zealous worker in the church and Sabbath-school.
He came to Indiana County, Pennsylvania, with his parents in his youth. He acquired a farm along a water course but preferred to work as a barn builder and it is said that even after he was eighty years of age he might often be found working on a barn roof.
