General Notes: Husband - James Wray
He received his education in its public schools. On starting out in the business world he engaged in lumbering and rafting on the Clarion river with his father. Beginning about 1886 he became engaged in the manufacture of sawed lumber in partnership with his brother, George W., and they shipped their product over the Pittsburg & Western railroad to all points of the country. He established a large general store on his farm, and was also interested in agricultural pursuits and stock raising. In August, 1874, he married and took his bride to the old family homestead, where they continued to reside, and purchased the place in 1894.
