General Notes: Husband - Robert Walker
In 1785, accompanied by his wife and infant son, he crossed the broad Atlantic in a sailing vessel, after a dreary passage of thirteen weeks landing on American soil. He later settled in western Pennsylvania, spending the winter in what is now East Lackawannock township, Mercer County, in a small log cabin which he built of poles, chinking it with mud. The following spring he moved to what is now Hickory township, and having purchased one hundred and fifty-six acres of land, at $1.25 per acre, erected a log cabin in the midst of the thick growth of trees, and at once began to clear the land. He improved a homestead, on which he toiled throughout his active life, residing on it until his death, when upwards of eighty years old.
He and his wife were cousins.
General Notes: Wife - Margaret Walker
