General Notes: Husband - John Smiley
He was a farmer, tanner, saddle- and harness-maker
He resided for a time in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Then he bought a farm in Hancock County, West Virginia, where they resided for several years; afterward moving into Hookstown, Pennsylvania. In the autumn of 1875 they moved to Burgettstown. They were members of the United Presbyterian Church. While living in West Virginia Mr. Smiley was elected ruling elder in the Tomlinson's Run Church.
