General Notes: Husband - Andrew J. Walker

---

Receiving a limited education in the district schools, he was but a child when he began to assist in doing chores on the farm, and at the age of twelve years he began to earn his own living. For a few years he worked for different farmers in the neighborhood, and when the furnaces were put in operation in this vicinity, began the manufacture of charcoal. Subsequently succeeding to the ownership of the parental homestead, he then devoted his time and attention to agricultural pursuits, and carried on general farming with good success.
