General Notes: Husband - John Watson
He was educated in the schools of Lancaster County and Greencastle, Pennsylvania, and was a prominent and progressive citizen of that town. He was a tanner and farmer, a member of the first town council and the first postmaster of the town. He was a charter trustee of the Mercersburg, Greencastle and Waynesboro Turnpike Company, and was also very active in church affairs, being a ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church.
