General Notes: Husband - Hamilton Whigham
He was educated in the public schools and his early years were spent on the farm owned by his father. He was a coal merchant on the Monongahela and Ohio rivers, and followed this for some years. Later he became identified with boat building, and finally retired to private life, having become the owner of property on Shaw avenue and Locust and Petty streets. He gave his political support to the Republican party, and he and his wife were members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
