General Notes: Husband - Jacob Shoup
He was an early settler in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. He was a boatman on the Allegheny river with Mark Hulings and other noted river men of the period, and during the war of 1812 poled boats carrying soldiers and freight on that stream from Pittsburgh to Conewango, on French creek, and other points, at the headwaters. He brought his family to Venango County in the early 19th century. [CAB, 923]
