General Notes: Husband - John Shields

He was the first saddler in Elizabeth, a town on the Monongahela river, Pennsylvania, and his wife was the first milliner there. They were married in North Ireland, the land of their nativity, but when young immigrated to America, where Mrs. Shields died. He returned to Ireland on a visit and died while there.
