General Notes: Husband - John Beatty
When he was a child, his parents left the Green Isle and sought a home in the wilds of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. After marriage, he and his wife remained in the vicinity of Greensburg, until about 1798, when a removal of the family was made to Perry Township in Armstrong County.
A native of Ireland, he came to Pennsylvania with his parents in boyhood, and settled in Westmoreland County. He grew to manhood in that county, and there married. In 1792 he removed to Perry township, Armstrong County, and settled on a farm, where he spent the balance of his life.
He was born in Maryland. [HAC 1883, 282x]
General Notes: Wife - Jane Guthrie
During the Indian foray into Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, at an early day, a brother of Jane Guthrie's was slain by them. "Jack Guthrie," the noted scout and Indian fighter, was her brother.
She lived to be a very old woman, and in her old age is remembered as a woman of unusual beauty and most gracious manner.
