General Notes: Husband - John Taylor
He was the founder in America of this line of the Taylor family. He came from ancestors who emigrated from England to Scotland during the protectorate of Oliver Cromwell. He came from Scotland to America, settled near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and lived to see his one hundredth birthday. In religion he was a strict Presbyterian.
He came to America prior to the war of the Revolution, locating near Philadelphia, from whence his descendants scattered abroad over the country. He lived to the advanced age of one hundred years. Three of his sons served in the army of the Revolution.
