General Notes: Husband - John Reed Scott
He prepared for college in private schools, later entering Gettysburg College, from which he was graduated, class of 1898. He qualified for the practice of law and from 1891 to 1898 practiced his profession in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. He then removed to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he was in active practice until 1907. He was a member of the law firm of White, Childs & Scott, of that city. After 1907 he was not in active practice and lived a retired life at his boyhood home, Gettysburg. He was well known in literary circles and devoted his time to literature, his favorite pursuit. He was the author of "The Red Hussars" (published in 1906), "Beatrix of Claire" (1907), "The Princes of Dehia" (1908), "The Woman in Question" (1908).
