General Notes: Husband - Hugh Scott
Tradition says Hugh Scott, Sr., came to Pennsylvania from the north of Ireland, and settled within the bounds of Chester County about the year 1670. The original county of Chester has been divided and sub-divided many times since. Hence we see, in local histories of the Scott family, the names of Lancaster, York, and Adams counties mentioned, areas embraced in original Chester, and also Cecil County, Maryland, contiguous territory.
