General Notes: Husband - Peter Baughman
When a young man he was employed on the Henry Welty farm near Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He helped to build the old court house in Greensburg, and was present at the Evans execution. He was a member of the Lutheran church, and a Democrat in politics. He had a cane mill, and made the molasses for the community for miles around. His home was the center of the social functions of the seasons, which consisted of corn-huskings, apple-butter boilings, wood choppings and taffy-pullings.
He was a veteran of the Civil War, one of the youngest enlisted men of the Union Army. [onw, 1035] But this can't be right - perhaps it applies to his son Peter.
