General Notes: Husband - George Scholl

He learned shoemaking from his father and followed the trade many years. He was also chief farmhand on his father's estate. He had a four-horse team engaged in regular trips carrying farm produce and merchandise to and from Philadelphia markets. He was robust, industrious, jovial; interested in local religious activities and donated the lot on which St. Paul's Union Chapel stands, with the provision that all denominations might hold services there except the catholics. After marriage he settled in one of the first stone houses in Coxtown (later known as Fleetwood), having himself hauled the stones and lumber for its construction. The second residence was bought of James Maxion in the 1830's, and on that estate stood the first Coxtown log school house, in which a German school was kept.
