General Notes: Husband - Matthew Savage

He was married in his native land and five children were born to him, only two of whom were still living in 1898. He came to America in an early day, settling in Karthaus township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, in 1829, after which he came to be known as the "wool peddler," his business being the trading of woolen blankets with the farmers in exchange for their wool.
