General Notes: Husband - William Thomas Sampson

The home place was situated three miles from Monongahela, Pennsylvania, and contained 265 acres of land, and upon it he raised a good quality of stock, besides carrying on general farming. Mr. Sampson was a Republican, and served his township as supervisor for several years.

In 1868 he came to his own farm of 308 acres of land located in Carroll and Fallowfield Townships, which he cultivated for his father, who was a cattle dealer, devoting the greater part of his time to that business. Mr. Sampson also dealt extensively in cattle in connection with general farming.
