General Notes: Husband - John Ryan

He was a native of Ireland, but of Scotch descent. He settled in 1800 in Crawford County, Pennsylvania. At that time he located 100 acres of government land and subsequently purchased 100 acres more from the Holland Land Company at $1.50 per acre, a portion of which he cleared and improved.
