General Notes: Husband - Louis Saal

He settled in Greenville, Mercer County, PA, in 1855, two years after the coming of his elder brother, Peter. During the earlier period of his residence there he was engaged in coal mining and quarrying, but later became identified with his brother’s brewery, one of the pioneer establishments of the kind in Greenville. He was thus employed until 1870, and afterward, for many years, he followed the cooper’s trade, and even when retired, he still engaged in the modest manufacture of barrels, purely for the sake of employment. He is one of the charter members of the German Reformed church and an old Odd Fellow.
