General Notes: Husband - Jacob G. Rudolph
As his youth was spent mainly in farm work he received but a limited education. After his marriage he bought his father's homestead in Henderson township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, and resided there, clearing and improving the place. About ninety acres were prepared by him for tilling, and the whole place was kept in a high state of cultivation. In 1884 he built a large bank barn, 50 x 60, and in 1891 a handsome and commodious dwelling house was erected, with all modern improvements. Later he bought twenty-five acres between his home and Big Run, and his wife purchased thirty-six acres in the same locality, so that they came to own a very fine property, much of which was underlaid with the Eleanor coal vein. Mr. Rudolph was always a liberal supporter of churches and schools, and he and his wife were leading members of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Big Run. Politically he was a Republican, and held the office of supervisor two terms, and he twice served as school director.
