General Notes: Husband - Samuel Scott
He was on the home place in Robinson township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and came with his parents to Smith township, where he was reared and educated, receiving a country-school education. He was an old-line Democrat, but after the organization of the party became a Republican. He held various township offices, and served three years as county auditor. He and his family were members of the United Presbyterian Church at Burgettstown, of which he was trustee for many years, and contributed liberally to the cause. For a time he taught school in Cross Creek, Smith township, and Robinson township.
