General Notes: Husband - Thomas C. Ramey


Civil War: he served in company I, 135th Pennsylvania volunteers, about six months, being discharged for disability; he re-enlisted in the signal corps, being with the Army of the Tennessee, and with Sherman on his march to the sea, about twenty months.

He had charge of Mahoning furnace, Armstrong County, for seven years, and also traveled for a Philadelphia wholesale house for five years. Later he succeeded his brother, Hon. Daniel Ramey, in the general store line at Davidsville.
