General Notes: Husband - John Beamer
He sold his farm near Hagerstown, Maryland, and removed about 1800 to Pennsylvania.
He was of German descent, but a native of eastern Pennsylvania, whence he emigrated to Franklin township, Westmoreland County. He was a farmer and distiller, and was also by trade a tailor.
He came to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, passing in his journey over the present site of Pittsburgh, and settled in Franklin township, five miles north of Murrysville, where he took up land which he cultivated during the remainder of his life.
He was born near Hagerstown, Maryland, and was a man of extensive knowledge, which, together with his integrity and energy, made him a progressive leader in his community. In church matters he was prominent, being instrumental in having a Reformed church erected which was known as the "Beamer church;" he was also an old time democrat.
