On the 3d of December, 1811, William Quail purchased one hundred and forty-seven acres of land of the Rev. Thomas Hamilton, of New York City, March 12, 1813; he also purchased of Hamilton one hundred and fifty-seven acres, and later purchased other tracts. He lived and died on the farm.
