FRANKLIN-Mrs. Florence Bell, 90, of 214 Eleventh St., widow of Earl C. Bell, died at 2:30 pm Wednesday in Franklin Hospital, where she was admitted late Tuesday afternoon. She had worked as a practical nurse.
A daughter of James F. and Olive Bower Beals, she was born at Mariasville July 24, 1884, and spent her early life in the Emlenton area, where she attended the public schools.
Mrs. Bell came to Franklin in the early 1900's and had lived here since.
She had worked as a private duty nurse for several residents of the Franklin area in her nursing career and during World War II was employed by the Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co.
Mrs. Bell was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, a member and president for many years of the Truth Seekers Class of the church and was a member of the Women's Society of World Service, another church organization.
Her husband, Earl C. Bell, died August 22, 1948.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Carl R. (Ethel) Reib and Mrs. Jay F. (Dorothy) Infield of Franklin and Mrs. John E. (Olive) Wilson of Groves, Texas; a son, Kenneth E. Bell of Meadville; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Elgie Beals of Kossuth.
A son died in infancy and a sister is deceased.
Friends will be received after 7 pm today at the Frank S. Huff Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Friday where funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday.
Rev. Harold R. Burgess, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
