died and is buried in the old graveyard in Essex, Connecticut, where his tombstone says he: "departed this life July ye 15, 1735 in ye 52 year of his age." He lived successively at Canterbury, Lyme, Had-dam, Saybrook and Middletown, Connecticut, buying and selling many parcels of land in these localities.
