He was reared and educated at Hubbard, OH, where his father had located in 1818. In 1843 he moved to Mill Creek, Mercer County, PA. In 1882 he, in connection with his son, Addison, moved to a farm of some 435 acres in Shenango Township and in Mill Creek where they constructed a handsome residence in 1884. [HMC 1888, 858]
