General Notes: Husband - John Adam Smith
His education was mainly received in the common school in Monroe township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania, but he attended also for about five months the old academy. His early days were spent on a farm, and he continued to follow this occupation. At one time he was a director of the bank at Sligo, Clarion County. He was a Democrat. Both he and his wife were members of the Lutheran church.
