This family is of German origin, and was planted in America by John and Michael Raymaley, who were cousins and had emigrated together from Germany.

There are two branches of this family in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, one spelling the name Remaley, the other Raymaley, but all descendants of John and Michael Raymaley, cousins, who came from Germany, settling first in Northampton County, Pennsylvania.

He spent the last years of his life in Franklin township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he died. He was by trade a blacksmith.
