General Notes: Husband - John Bayley


He purchased four hundred acres of land and a grist- and saw-mill from the executors of the estate of John Galbraith in 1757. He converted the old tavern, built by John Galbraith at the run, into a storehouse. He was a zealous and ardent patriot during the Revolutionary war. He was elected to the Council.
