General Notes: Husband - Benjamin Rush Walthour

He was educated in the public schools of the township, and began his business life as a farmer. Upon attaining manhood he learned the carpenter's trade and followed it for ten years. He then opened a livery stable, in August, 1877, at Manor. Three years later he built a fine barn, in which he kept a complete stock of everything necessary to the proper conduct of the business. He was a Democrat from conviction, because he believed in the great principles taught by that party from the time of Jefferson down. He was a member of Manor Lodge, No, 90, Ancient Order United Workmen, and of Trovilla Council No. 158, Junior Order United American Mechanics, in which he took an active interest.
