General Notes: Husband - Samuel West

Presumably he learned the miller's trade. About 1796 or earlier his father purchased for him a farm of about three hundred acres in Chester township, (Delaware County, Pennsylvania?) naming it Shepherd's Plain, and upon this the son became a successful farmer and shepherd for the remainder of his life. He was an active member of the Society of Friends, and an elder in the local meeting.
