General Notes: Husband - Alfred F. Shanor
He was reared and educated in Franklin township, Butler county, PA, his native township. He purchased a farm of 137 acres, in Muddy Creek township, in 1880, and located on it the following year. He made all the improvements and had one of the best farms in the township. In politics, he was a Democrat, and an ardent supporter of his party. In 1886 he engaged in buying stock for the home market, which business he carried on in connection with his farm. He was recognized as one of the leading farmers of his township, as well as one of its most progressive citizens, and had a small production of oil on his farm.
